The Christmas Tree in a Shoe

Updated: Nov 8, 2020

I can turn pretty much anything into a Christmas tree theme. So what do you do when you have some vintage wooden beads and a Playskool Old Lady in the Shoe toy? Put Christmas tree in the shoe and use the beads for ornaments.

Many of the ornaments are the wooden beads. I simply slid the hole over the branch. Easy peasy.

I also had a bunch of small round beads. I took inspiration from the pull string of the shoe and....

made a bunch of ornaments with red and white string (found in the gift wrap section during Christmas season) to simulate the pull string.

I added a second tiny tree in the front hole of the shoe. I glued two small wooden stars on the top and then made a garland out of the small beads and the red/white string.

I originally made this to sell in the shop. I tend to price things in the shop a little higher if I don't really want to get rid of it, but if someone will pay the price, I would be willing to let it go. This was still around at the end of the season, so now it has a permanent home in my basement which is decorated with vintage toys and games.
